View Full Version : Changing beliefs?

There was a post in Religion 101 which mentioned irrefutable evidence that Christianity was false (the thread was entitled “Any reason to be Christian”). After 30 odd pages & everyone is still waiting, I kinda got bored…
I have found TWeb enlightening towards ideas that I hadn’t come across before, but I was wondering if anyone’s beliefs had changed as a result of TWeb or similar debate forums?

I've nuanced my beliefs a bit and I have seen one person go from being a nonChristian to a Christian, but not much more than that.

I have been going through a big change in my belief system. I am starting to question my black coffee Calvinism. I am letting God take where he will.

Can I ask whether this is a direct result of TWeb (or similar)?
In searching for truth or understanding does anyone think that a Christian looking at an Atheist point of view (or vice versa) is particularly helpful?

I think that TWEB definetley has had a great deal of effect on me by bringing up the same questions over and over again and not letting me ignore them. Also my discussions with Arminian, Jaltus, YXBoom have allowed me to see scripture from there point of view. While not totally changing my stance (yet?) it has really helped me to challenge assumptions.
I think that Atheist have a very good critique of Christianity at a lot fo point. Read Tom Wrights New Testament and the People of God where he discusses the critique of Christianity but the enlightenment it really sums up my sentiments about it.

I would say that I've had to face my doubts as a result of anti-christian arguements. I haven't had a chance to reply in to my original post mentioned above(I've been in court forclosing on a house I sold to another party land contract) but I plan to do so today.
I enjoy T-web even if I don't find myself sure of my belifs any more.

While I can't say that I've changed any beliefs b/c of TW I can say that some of my beliefs have been strengthened. Whoohooooo! :joy:

I've seen two people go from non-Christian to Christian, and I myself have changed several beliefs because of debates/discussions.
