This is for Jews and Christians alike. On the next coming of the messiah (first for Jews, second for many Christians), how will the messiah be able to prove that he is in fact messiah?

When Isaiah 11 happens and when Isaiah 2:4 happens "4. And he shall judge among the nations, and shall decide for many people; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, nor shall they learn war any more."

I think that when millions of us find ourselves up in the clouds without the aid of Continental Airlines, that would be our first clue.

Thank you for your polite and considered response.

Referring to Isaiah 11, how will we know that he comes out of the line of Jesse?

From Isaiah 2, how will the nations know that he has authority to judge or the credentials of Messiah?

So does that mean you are a believer in the pre-trib rapture?

Luke 21:24-28, has the best clue for me.
"They will fall by the sword and will be taken as prisoners to all the nations. Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.
There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. Men will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken. At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When all these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near."

since Jerusalem was destroyed, and the Jewish people were sent to all the nations of the world, part of that is fulfilled. Since as of July 1980, Jerusalem is declared the capital of Israel, and that they have sovereignty (Israel) over all the holy areas of Jerusalem, then I think that one could say that Jerusalem is no longer trampled on. The signs in the sun, moon and stars, still to come. Perhaps the sea thing, partly happened, since that last tsunami hit not just 'one' nation, but nations, we may see more of this happening if the ocean gets deeper with global warming, and global warming may cause more earthquakes, etc.

But it is pretty clear that both here and in Daniel, that it says the Son of Man will come in the clouds. The Bible speaks of everyone seeing this. So, I would think this is a pretty clear sign.

Not at all. But I still believe the Lord is coming for us at the last day (John 6:39,40,44), and that the dead in Christ will rise first, and we who are alive will be caught up together to be with the Lord in the clouds. (1 Thess. 4:15-18)

I did not mean any offense, just trying to understand your perspective.

No offense meant at all. I'm sorry if I gave that impression.
