Alright folks. It is time to pick book number three. I'll give people a week from today to decide.

DeeDee has suggested to me, The Tao of Pooh.

I might also suggest Flannery O'Connor's Everything That Rises Must Converge.

Any more suggestions? Comments? Opinions? Obscenities, etc.?

I am not sure how well Texts For Nothing :hrm: would fit the criteria(n) for the book but it might be interesting to see what people think of it. Failing that The Tao of Pooh

I really liked the Tao of Pooh, and think that would be an excellent choice. But I was huge into Pooh when I was little, so I am a tad biased.

the Te of Piglet was a little too meandering for me, which is very Tao, but I am not a Taoist, so....

I recently checked out the unabridged audiobook of The Tao of Pooh. I support its nomination.

I'm a Big fan of the Tao of Pooh. It sucked the spirit of arrogance right out of me. Had Benjamin Hoff written this book prior to the early 4th century, I would have nominated it for consideration in the canon! :thumb:

The best book I ever read was "Quo Vadis." I highly recommend it. It is historical fiction which discusses Christianity Nero's Rome. One article in the New York Times asserted that this book was the best novel of the 20th century.

Small Gods, By Terry Pratchett, is also a good book. It is very funny, but it also explores the idea that a God might owe something to his followers.

All right, let's put it to a vote:

T of P

Small Gods

Might I suggest Soul Survivor: Why I Am Still a Christian By Philip Yancy.

I find it a very thought provoking book and one that I haven't not even attempted to enhale as I usually do when I read books. It is one I want to savor to it's fullest and would love to discuss it with others.

Okay, since we have the most suggestions for The Tao of Pooh, by Benjamin Hoff (ISBN: 0140067477), we will start on that one week from Monday. I believe that is June 9.

:pat:

P.S. Please keep thsoe other books that were suggested in mind. We may want to use them at a later date.
