I have a bump on my lip

It really really hurts, too. It's on the edge of the inside of my lip. :frown: You can't see it, but I can feel it with my tongue. I am really sick this week- runny/stuffy nose, slight fever, sneezing, coughing. What is this freaky bump????

I get those once in a while, roobz. It could be a result of bumping it with your toothbrush, or biting it, or another injury. It could also be from the cold you have.

There is stuff that we can buy here in Canada, called "Sterisol", which is like an antiseptic mouthwash. I suppose Listerine would do the same thing. I use it whenever I get any sort of bump, or bite my cheek, or whatever, and it seems to help the bump go away.

If it doesn't go away after a few days, or a week, or some reasonable time, check it with your doctor. I had a huge one as a child that was actually a cyst that had to be removed. It was just done by the doc in his office, and I have never had one of those since.

I rinsed with listerine and thought my inner lip would fall off. :flaming: So then I just used warm salt water. I dunno if those helped or if it just went away by itself, but it's not a bump anymore and is almost gone now. Thankfully!

At least it wasn't a cold sore then, then are not nice, since it is related to herpes.

They don't look like they'd be very fun. I think what I had is more like a canker sore, 'cuz it was inside my lip.

I get a bump on my lip and flu-like symptoms when I get an allergy to something or hayfever. Do you have lots of pollen around you. We are starting to come into our rapeseed season here.

That's the word I was trying to think of when I was replying to you before! Canker sore! :doh:

So sorry the Listerine hurt you. Good thinking about the salt water, that would likely have helped without the pain......
