I heard on the radio today, that some university study, (I think it was Harvard) said what I have noted in my work with the elderly.

That counting your blessings, thinking about the good in your life and being grateful, is very good for your health. They say to think of at least 5 or 6 things a day you are grateful for, will help to improve and lengthen your life.

I've seen people crippled with arthritis, struggling because of a stroke, or cancer, still be sure and Thank me and others that help them, when we are paid to help them and they don't need to thank us. They are the one's that live the longest (into their late 80's, 90's, even into 100's) and they are usually so sweet spirited. Others may have the same conditions, get treated the same, but are not so quick to thank or praise others, and they don't seem to live as long.

So... as that old song goes, (words not necessarily in right order)

'Count your blessings, name them one by one,
count your blessings see what God has done
Count your blessings, name them one by one
Count your many blessings
And it will surprise you
what the Lord has done.' :)
