Sorry FH. Don't think of it as a cold heartless comment, rather as giving your thread exposure on the recent posts list. Hey there's no such thing as bad press you know. (well except if you're Howard Dean) Anyway, good luck on your test.

Why do you have to have the memory test? I've heard of the WISC-IV.

That was my question; I'm aware of the Wechsler I.Q. battery, but I'm not familiar with a "memory test". Are you taking an intelligence test?

I have memory problems and as far as I am aware the test I am taking is a diagnostic test.

Due to a malignant brain tumor, which was resected in 2/02, I developed severe cognitive deficits, one of which has been my tendency to forget huge chunks of visual information, I also have extreme difficulties multitasking and get confused easily. In order to combat grand-mal (tonic clonic or full body) seizures, I must take high doses of anticonvulant meds. I put off taking the WMS III for quite some time; however, 3 job demotions later due to memory and other related cognitive dysfunctions, I opted to check with my HMO to see whether I could acquire funding through them. I met with my oncologist, as well as with a speech/language specialist, who both recommended I undergo a complete neuropsychological evalation. I recently did so, and the entire testing procedure took in excess of 6 hours, but with 2-3 breaks per test. The WMS III testing only took around 1.5 hours, give or take a few minutes. Before having to demote jobs, I worked as a Disability-Claims Adjudicator for 9 years. Unfortunately my employer could no longer accommodate funding for my job, and I have had to take a series of demotions. I'm now looking at applying for SSDI myself, because it's getting too hard to work. As a Christian believer, fought the idea of taking any psychological tests but God revealed to me that it's ok to do this. Please try not to worry or be anxious for anything etc (I can't recall the rest of the verse). Everything is going to work out for you. I recommend getting the complete neuro eval done. It will be fine! God bless you and I'll be praying for you. :)
