A young man who was the nephew of a friend of mine committed suicide about 3:30 this morning.

I don't have clearance to give specifics publicly, but please be in prayer for the family. I had some influence in his life as well so I have offered to give attendance to the family as needed; perhaps even be involved in memorial services somehow. Thus I may also soon be offline for a short time...and no site updates, of course...

JP...my prayers are with you and the young man and his family, naturally. I lost 2 family members to suicide last year, another in 2000, and had an attempt of my own in 1996. I lost a grandfather and an aunt when I was much younger the same way. I know a lot about this...if you need support in how to counsel the family...let me know. I'd be happy to do what I can.

The young man's funeral is tomorrow at 6. I will be attending.

The family expressed appreciation for the prayers.

The memorial was very nice. Steve Brown of Key Life Network officiated.

The burial is this morning...I'll be leaving shortly to attend...
