Okay... I just lost a sprite/smiley I was working on for an hour. I need a break from spriting/smiling! They are driving me insane!

So for the next couple days, I will take your ANYTHING-BUT-SMILEYS/SPRITES requests.. for example:

Signatures
Avatars (though I do not have access to DVDs like I used to, I do have some interesting movies though.. ask for a list if you are interested)
Photographs of Elite Teddy Bear Clive Staples

Anything. Anything but sprites or smileys.. but just for a few days.. I'll get back up by the weekend.

You need some kind of image editing software. Most of them cost money, however there is one called "Gimp" that is completely free. I do not have the link, but I can find it..

I believe TheologyWeb has an automatic resizer somewhere, but I forget where it is.

Irfanview is free and does resizing/rescaling. also use their Sharpen effect so it doesn't look fuzzy.

Open the image in paintbrush.

Go to Image->attributes and note the largest dimension (assuming its over 120)

Grab your calculator and 120/largest dim

round down

make sure nothing is selected of the picture (have the pencil or something else activated)

go to Image-> Stretch/Skew

Under stretch fill in the % you just calculated for both the Hor & Vert

Check the image->attributes to be sure you're under 120 x 120

use undo and try again with a lower pct if required

save it - upload it

Starting a new thread in ten minutes: Defense Against the Digital Arts

actually, until i switched to Linux, i used to use both Paintbrush and Irfanview, as there are somethings you can do with one you can't with the other, and thus the complement each other very well.

TL, here is the replacement for the first smiley/piece

The one you have now is slightly larger than the rest of 'em. I think this is because I accidentaly used an inferior slicing technique until I remembered the superior technique that I "Developed"
