Is John Q's habitual participation at church limited to a three-hour experience on a single day, or can he experience The Church every day?
To further clarify: "For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them." Matt. 18:20
So, if two or three John Qs meet in His name, at what point does the dynamic expereince and authority of The Church happen?
For example: John Q :pat: works at the Choke N' Croak Hash-house; during his small lunch hour he has a Bible study with John Q2 :ri: . Is this meeting greater or lesser than, or equal to, when John Q :pat: and John Q2 :ri: meet on Sunday along with John Q3 - 3000? :solly:
Does:
6(JohnQ + John Q2) = 1(JohnQ1-3000) ?
After viscerating this issue neatly by some form of scientific method, I reach a conclusion that input is critical.

I think I need your definition of this statement. "The Church," according to scripture is the body of Christ, who is the head. That means, the body of people that work together to do the will of God. Just as your limbs and organs must work together in order for you to live in health, so must we come together in agreement with God's will.
Any time any gathering of two or more does so, God is present and God is pleased. Notice the important thing here is that those gathered must do more than declare it is in His name. They must be in agreement and in ACCORDANCE WITH HIS WILL. That's what God's waiting for in His people...for the church (those members of the body of Christ) to align itself perfectly with the head. THEN, we're ready for the end of time and eternity in Heaven. Taking a look around these boards, I'd say we have a good 997 years to go!

My definition of the The Church is those who believe upon Christ as Lord and as a result of His Lordship, they obey His commandments.
Regards to your number of years, I'd say its more like 200 to the third power.

Sounds like we're pretty much in agreement on the definition of the church. The clarity I'm looking for is in your use of the phrase "dynamic expereince and authority of The Church." If you mean, Is God present...I'd say "yes." Is there some other quality you are attributing to what happens in a Sunday service that may or may not happen in a private bible study?
Interested to know...

The dynamic experience is the power of God through conviciton of the Holy Spirit; the authority of the Body is the authority we gain from the Scriptures.
The dynamic experience and authority of The Church does not change no matter what setting it is in, whether it is being persecuted or not, is it a redeemed body of believers, positionally made righteous and Holy by the blood of Christ, and can access through the word of God, the authority and power of God.

They get different things out of it...There is something to be had with 2 or 3, but there is something to be had with all 3000+ in attendance...Remember in Acts the things that happened when they were all together and in one accord...(Maybe that's why nothing is happening like we read, because we can't seem to be in one accord.... ) But rememeber the times the very house shook...there is something that happens when all are together and in one accord and I've had the blessing of being in a service where most were and words can't describe the blessings I recieved.
There's different benefits to the two of them...
