Constantly looking, I strive for the truth. I am aware of the Dichotomous and Trichotomous theory and one of the differentiation between the two is that the soul and spirit are one(Di), yet they are split apart (Tri). I ahve always grown up with the Trichotomous belief, but recently I read in Mark 12:30 where Christ talks as if there are four parts to man; heart, mind, soul, and body. This baffles me, especially since the product of the heart and the mind is soul, where is our spirit? Is our spirit and soul the same thing? is our heart and mind the same thing? Could there possibly be 5 parts to us the body, mind, heart, soul, and spirit? What do I use in my paper for Anthropology in Theology3??
