Garth despite viscious rumors to the contrary, I do. Which is why it is drivng me MAD not to know what Lobstrosity means. And I am still cracking up on Sher's comment on whether or not that was his real name.
And I did (bad girl :whip:) post it here cause Lob only frequents here. Once he answers I will move it.

Where ever I go there are always a few people who recognize the reference. I guess it's somewhat obscure, but not insanely so. I know...I'll turn this into a challenge: first person to reveal the source of my nom de plume will get a pearl. You know you want one!
And just to come to your defense, lobsters are animals and animals are biological and hence my nickname has to do with biology. :teeth:

Does it refer to the novel by Upton Sinclair? Or, IIRC, wasn't that title spelled "Jimmie Higgins"?

What was deceptive was the fact that the moderator [ notice ] tags created the red text and box when I previewed the post. Then when I posted it, it was gone and I had to edit the post really fast to put the NOTICE text back in.

"Jimmy Higgins"
The Mental World of the American Rank-And-File Communist, 1930-1958
By Aileen S. Kraditor
This study fills a conspicuous gap in the secondary literature on the Communist Party by examining the mental world of the wholly committed rank-and-file Party member. "Jimmy Higgins" was an imaginary composite considered the ideal for members to emulate; the attitudes and beliefs held by Jimmy Higgins-type members have not been adequately studied until now. As Kraditor demonstrates these members differed in important ways from the Party leaders and cadre, and also from the vast majority of members who belonged to the Party for only a few years. Basing her analysis on a detailed textual examination of thousands of pages of Party publications and on her own experience as a long-term Party member, Kraditor reconstructs the "second reality" in which the devout rank-and-file member lived.

I PM'ed Lobstrostity last week and asked if his name was from the critters that attacked Roland, the Gunslinger, in the beginning of Book Two of the "Dark Tower" series. Don't I get a Perl?

Take care.
Oh, and "Jimmy Higgins"? Isn't he that computer-animated boy-genius from Nickelodeon Studios who saves the world from aliens and has his own Saturday morning show? The one with the hair that looks like a Dairy Queen soft serve run amok?

Almost there. I always perfer the original. Can we now figure out who created him? It certainly wasn't the communists.

I was reminded of the old union movement name for all the unsung, rank-and-file heroes, those ordinary folks who sacrificed and struggled for their cause but got few of the accolades. The "Jimmy Higgins" of labor, as they were once known,

You're thinking "Jimmy Neutron," and there used to be a poster over on CARM by that name, however I don't think he ever posted on their EVO forum. He has since shed that username and goes by "theghostinthemachine."
Yours,
Garth (thinking to himself that he spends wayyyyyyy too much time surfing discussion boards like these if he can recall random Christian posters and their username histories...)

Well Lobrosity is either into cars:-
"Coolant sensor problem solved. I don't know why no one else suggested this, Lobrosity is absolutely right... "
and/or gaming:-
"Well I targetted DarkCorsair and it was even said previously that I targetted DarkCorsair. I forgot who said it originally amended his first post saying me and St. Cuthbert targetted DarkCorsair NOT Lobrosity. "
Google returned no more hits for "What does Lobrosity mean".
So the mystery remains, which is a bit of a bummer.
