I downloaded that thing once and it took forever; I'm not doing that again.

But, it is an excellent piece of software.

Or you could cheat. Download it at work, install it then zip the e-sword directory. Copy the install program and the zipped files to a cd, and voila. Just like I did. :brow:

I don't know. It doesn't say. I love the new feature of splitting Bible verses so you can look at 2 at the same time.

You want me to mail you a copy of my CD?

Nah, I'll probably just download the update. Last time it was only like 2 megs, not bad.

They are still doing those small updates, right?

I also found my original 16meg file I downloaded. For as long as that took to download, losing it on my harddrive firghtened me. :hrm:

Yep, it's small relatively. 5 Megs. Dialup may take a while.

I wonder if they'll ever provide Lightfoot's commentary as an add-on. I do need to get the NASB where I can cut&paste verses w/o having to do large amounts of typing. I'm pretty much using the LITV as a substitute for the time being.

Undomiel, what is your site's URL?

God bless

It's new so the stuff is spread out all over the place. I tried to keep it nice and neat, but most of the material is linked from elsewhere on the net. It's like a glorified link page in a way.

Your site looks great! I hope to see it grow.

That's the perfect description for mine :teeth:. I pretty much just use it as an archive to keep up with all the goodies I find though.

Boom has esword and all the modules on disc as well, he sent it to me. I need to fork out the $$ for the NAS though. The Online Bible has the LXX module though which is linked to a concordance which Esword does not have.

I've been quite disappointed lately with E-Sword's new downloads. They all have locks on them and you have to pay to get them unlocked. The thing that made E-Sword unique was the free modules. Lately, it seems that you are lucky to get a module that DOESN'T have a lock on it...

I don't even use it anymore. Since then there are so many tools on the Net that you don't have to download anything for.

I use it, and it's useful for fast searches or times when the internet isn't working. However, after I formatted my computer and dloaded it again, it only had the KJV visible and I can't figure out how to activate other bibles so I haven't used it in a while.

Darth, do you have your modules backed up?

like DE, i only use e-Sword anymore to search for specific texts, or else copy and pastes. i'd rather read a printed Bible for most anything else.

it's because of copyrights. all the old stuff was public domain, or else freely available by the consent of the copyright owner. good luck getting the NASB or NIV to sign on to that. at least the NASB has an unlockable.

it doesn't bother me. a worker deserves his wages, and if the respective organizations want to make some money for their trouble, that is their right.

have you seen the prices on commercial bible software?

I have all of my modules backed up on 3 separate CDs compressed in a zip file to conserve space.

Me too actually. I bought a NASB, and it is funny to see my fellow churchmembers look at it like it was a Greek Text... :clueless:

Oddly enough, I still have the NASB module on mine from when it was on the web site as "Pending Approval"...

 That's why I like the E-Sword software...

i had to do that with a lot of mine. i lost the key numbers, so i just reinstall the modules when i have to restore.

don't get me started. people probably think i'm weird for bringing my pocket NASB, when the text from the Message version is right on the big screen.

I just gave in and ordered Bible Works. My wallet hurts.
