Hi,
As many of you know, I work for the Health Department in the STD program. As a result, I do know quite a bit about STD, although I am not a doctor or a nurse. In my field, I deal predominately with four diseases: HIV, syphilis, chlamydia, GC. Those are the ones I know the most about but I have also studied most of the other STD's (31 total).
I've noticed a lot of confusion and misinformation about STD - hardly limited to the Internet or T-web, so I thought I'd start a thread to discuss STD and answer any questions that I can. HIV questions are fair game, but please refrain from political debate - if an issue arises that you wish to debate, I'll be happy to do so in a companion thread in Poli Sci if you will PM me about it. Otherwise, please don't debate in this thread.
