I'll miss you all ... but * dwmitch * most of all ...
Sorry to bring back such an old post, but I have to ask how you did that. Was it PHP or Javascript, and does it only work on sites with a registration system or can it also get information off of the computer?
For example, if I would have put my real name when setting up Windows instead of throwing Willie a curve ball and using my internet name, would it have displayed my real name instead?
Sher
October 1st 2003, 06:11 PM
The "you" feature only takes your screen name and puts it in the place of "you". No information is garnered from elsewhere. Whatever your screen name is would appear in that place, and everyone sees their own (example, I see "Sher")

But no one answered the question on how it works. I know a similar function in Javascript that will let you enter your name and then it will print it as if it were already typed in, but I don't know how to get it to work using a user name with no input.
I'm kind of an HTML/Javascript/PHP/VC++ buff so I'll probably be asking a lot of technical questions, although HTML is the only one I have any degree of proficiency in, provided I only need HTML tags from 3.2 and earlier.
