The separation of the soul from the body.

What is death?
Could you be more specific?
I believe that there are two kinds of death.
Physical Death,
Spiritual Death.
Physical Death, I believe is when our spirit leaves our mortal body.
Spiritual Death, I believe is the consequence of sinning against our Heavenly Father. The more we sin, the further we distance ourselves from Him, and the less able we become to feel his presence. It can be seen in people who have grown to sin so much, that they do not care if what they do is wrong, people who have begun to really enjoy sinning.
I hope this answers your question.
God be with you.

What is death?
Irrelevant.
As a Christian we are eternal creatures.
Death is something you wade through on your journey into G_d.
One day you'll be talking to a friend, maybe a million years hence, and you'll rattle off a list of dates in your life and the date of your own physical death won't even make the list.
Feb 14, 1955 : Born
Nov 3, 1972 : Met my son Andy for the first time.
Aug 22, 1990 : Understood Jesus' ressurection in a new light.
Jan 6, 2010 : Realized how important flowers are.
May 29, 2200 : Finally met the angel 'Finnidi'
Sept 15, 10300 : Caught up with my brother Jake at Seraphim pool.
Death is meaningless -- a transition from one set of challenges and faith to a different level of challenges and faith.
