If science is able to develop bio-technologies capable of extending human life indefinitely, on what ethical or biblical grounds would the Church be for or against it?

I wouldn't support it on practical grounds - I don't think I'd want to live on this fallen world for a thousand years, we struggle to feed and employ everyone anyway so how would we plan on feeding with all this extra people? Thats just the start of the possible nightmare scenarios...I can't be bothered to list any more.

Basically I don't think I'd be against it 'as the Church', I'd be against it as a sane man.

James, thanks for your input. What I'm wondering is, what moral or ethical reasons might pit the Church against indefinite life extension?
