matt 28:1 says it was at dawn on the first day.

mark 16:1-2 says it was very early on the first day, just after sunrise.

luke 23:56-- 24:1 says it was on the first day, very early in the morning.

john 20:1 says it was early on the first day, while it was still dark.

so all four gospels agree it was the first day of the week, and early in the day. don't mark and john contradict each other? or can it still be dark after sunrise?

any thoughts?

It sounds like it was very early in the morning, at dawn, just after sunrise, but while it was still dark.
