In our local area we put a lot of refuges up in a church camp that lots of kids in the area use for summer camp. It has some cabins and a mess hall. Not a terrible place for temporary lodging. Good meals, air conditioned sleeping, and showers are nice basics. Our church and others were happy to do it.
Unfortunately what really makes me sad is it was treated very badly. How I wish people would just treat things with the respect they deserve. This is not to say we wouldn't do it the same way again. But I can't help it making me sad.
