I start my new part-time job tonite as security patrol for my apartment complex. Overnights on weekends.

Here in minneapolis it gets very cold overnight, and we have homeless people sneaking in to sleep under the stairs and in other secluded spots.

I was thinking, "what am I going to do, just kick them back out on the street in the middle of winter?"

So, anyway. Just a few moments ago I went down the road to the grocery store. As I get out of my car, I'm greeted by a representative of 'Victory 2 the rescue' church outreach program in downdown minneapolis. He hands me a flyer and starts telling me about thier 'rescue teams' for the homeless!

When I come across a homeless person here on the property, I can call the rescue squad day or night. They will come and pick them up, take them back to thier outreach center - no charge - and feed and shelter them all winter.

It hit me like a bolt of lightning. God is still at work in my life.

You see many years ago, I asked God to use me for His purposes as He sees fit. Since then, I have periodically found myself in the right place at the right time to serve in ways that seem suited to my abilities and circumstances.

Praise God!

Amen!! That is a wonderful story, thanks for sharing it. I know your winters are severe there....it's wonderful you are being used by God to help the homeless. Perhaps it will be the start of a new life for some of them!
