is it bad to worry in general or to worry about earthly matters? can I live life care-free the way I know how? what does God wish?

Hi Nani. Thanks for your question!

First off, let me go on and state that I'm fallen in this aspect as well. I have an extremely obsessive personality that can worry about many things. Thus, you are not hearing from someone who has no relation to the situation that you are describing.

Secondly, I think there's a difference between worry and caution. Imagine walking home at night and seeing a dark alley and as you look in, you see several big burly guys. No one will fault you for not walking down that alley at that time.

No one will fault you either if you have concern for someone who has cancer also for instance. Maybe you have a sudden bill come in and you wonder where the money is going to come from. I really do not believe such actions are condemned.

What is condemned is denying that God is in control of this universe. Everything happens not necessarily because he causes it, but because he allows it. There will never be a time when something in this universe has gone on without God's knowing and allowing it.

Worry cannot make a single hair on your head black or white. It does not change the situation. It changes your approach to the situation. I would say the key to avoid this is to pray. Remind yourself that you are not in charge of this universe and God is.

In regards to your last question, Augustine once said, "Love God and live as you please." People often think you're opening the door to sin with a statement like that. I disagree. I think that if you love God, then you will naturally want to please him.

What can I say? I agree with them. Friend. Love God. Enjoy your life. He gives all things richly for your enjoyment. (1 Tim. 6:17)

Hope this helps!

Thanks, this does help a bunch. I'm will take this into consideration when caution should be used, and when deciding how I am going to enjoy what God gives.
