Theology the tie that binds?
Theology has done more to divide the human race than any war in and of itself ever has. It divides and conquers the human mind within itself and within a community. An entire well equppied website devoted to it? There are more important things in life. I could spend the rest of my life debating theology with one person or another, chasing people trying to get my point across but quite frankly there are better things to do.
I hope you all learn to have fun, but perhaps this sort of thing is fun for you. I don't know with a war religously, theologically powered now in progress how much fun we are supposed to be having, but I can't stop it. I am not the little ant that is trying to move a rubber tree plant. Hello? It seems that if there is a God of all creation he'd be trying to move people together at a time like this just to promote peace.
Inspiring poems, art etc.
Begin to look around you, don't take everything on faith and see for yourself whether or not there is one supreme being. Then if you find it post your brains out.
Fare thee well and Good Luck,
Rio

thanks for noticing, study hound -- at least you're observant. There should be a hyphen after well and between equipped. The paragraphs aren't fully formed and the story is undeveloped indicating either total mental breakdown or complete frustration with discussing theology at all. :sigh:

Well met rio
Theology has done more to divide the human race than any war in and of itself ever has.
Has theology done that or is it an inherent trait of humanity that is just groping for an outlet to connect with? It doesn't matter what the reason happens to be the primitive urge in man to fight over something will find a way to manifest itself.
Theology could very well be likened to a tool. As mankind discovered the use of clubs, spears, swords, cannons, guns, nuclear weapons, etc we groped for a way to use these tools against each other: theology happened to provide that outlet because it is central to human life and easily stirs up passion...

Perhaps the human mind is already divided and theology is just illustrating that condition? Nonetheless what is more important? Do you spend time chasing people to get your point across or discussing points with people trying to find some answers or questions or both? Trying to chase people with points is not discussion is it?

You are persuaded that the current war is fueled by religious motives? I'm not discounting that but isn't there a bit more to the equation than that? Perhaps the drive to kill interacts with many different factors to find its way to the surface - there will always be an enemy won't there? Whether religious, political, economical, territorial, et al someone is always the bad guy.

Is there anyway to know if God isn't doing that? Perhaps God is doing those wonderful things and we just don't care to listen? If we want it our way perhaps that's what we have?

A fare commission to all... But even looking around requires faith doesn't it? You trust what you know of concepts and definitions that give substance to the sensory information your brain is diagramming for you - that trust in your own basic aptitudes is fundamental and commonsense to all of us; but isn't it still a measure of faith (trust)?
Take care
