Hey look, there are no gods or goddesses, or at least there is no evidence for any of them. It's so rediculous people still believe that this christ character is going to come to save humanity or that the world was created my magic ant feces (yes, there is a religion that believes that)..
I mean, life is absurd.. Life is meaningless ULTIMATELY. Things are "screwed up" so to speak.. But trying to compensate by adding gods and goddesses into the mix is so childish.. There is no REASON to believe that those things exist.. No gods, no god, no goddess, no goddesses, no transexual gods, no transexual gods, no wind gods, rain gods, sun gods, olympian gods or anything else like that.. These theist just WANT to believe it because it fulfills a need.. Well here news for you.. The universe doesn't correspond with our needs. Why should it? Because we are UPSET otherwise?
I always hear someone say "This can't be the end of life.. There must be something after this.. How could there be no afterlife?"
What do you mean?? You mean "How could there be no afterlife when that means that my awareness would cease to exist forever and I don't want that"
That's what you really mean.. Death is a hard thing to accept.. TO BAD.

You said,
That's what you really mean.. Death is a hard thing to accept.. .
No, death is not a hard thing to accept because it is a fact of life- but lets just say sciptures are true (for me they are) would it be hard for you to accept after death, it's eternty? It would be one way or another- what you gave away and what you end up getting.
If we just sleep and no nothing then that is fine, but if not

I'm so glad you solved this question. Well, fellow Christians, I guess we should all just drop our "rediculous" faith because, ummm, it's stupid.
I mean, life is absurd.. Life is meaningless ULTIMATELY. Things are "screwed up" so to speak..
It wouldn't seem like things could be screwed up if they never had any meaing.
But trying to compensate by adding gods and goddesses into the mix is so childish.. There is no REASON to believe that those things exist..
Forget the mountains of books written on the subject by people who spend their entire life studying the subject, they were just childish
No gods, no god, no goddess, no goddesses, no transexual gods, no transexual gods, no wind gods, rain gods, sun gods, olympian gods or anything else like that..
Transexual gods? Geez, I wonder who the surgeon was  .

Thats why people believe? Because they want to? Those strawmen are certainly hard to beat down.

Unless this is some sort of satire, I suggest this OP wins some sort of whiny rant award.

Isn't this the Black Swan Fallacy? But even if I'm incorrect you miss the point. There is a reason to beleive in Diety.. the Divine. In my case God and Goddess and for perfectly real world reasons. That faith has assisited a whole lot of people to be better people. That as they say is historical fact.. thats the legacy of that religious faith. Has it been misused and twisted? Yes, it has.. but so has nationalism.. and other purly secular beliefs. Do you remember the concept of eugenics? Walk your path, learn, grow and let others find their own.

Listen to me, I'm the voice of reason,
I will tell you what you must do
Evidence for gods is out of season
And must be equated with magic ant poo.

My life sucks, it's full of nonsense!
But you think that yours is good.
You throw in gods because you want them,
Like no honest thinker should.

All my foes are wishful thinkers,
Who do not want death to come.
But I guess those silly stinkers
Are wrong just 'cause I say they're dumb!

Wow, this post is just such a successfull attack on my convictions. No contextual or textual criticism of the Bible. No significant data refuting arguments for the reliability of the New Testament (http://www.tektonics.org/lp/nttextcrit.html)or for the Ressurection (http://www.tektonics.org/lp/nowayjose.html) and such. Just an angry athiest teenager telling us we're stupid.
BTW: Can you at lest give us the name of the religion that believes in the "magic ant feces" creation story, and the source of your info as well. I am somewhat skeptical of claims made on internet discussion boards by people who don't list their sources.

Those Tranny-gods, so essential to religious beliefs of "these" one "theist" you speak of, you had to mention 'em twice, eh.

So are there people in the room when you "hear" this being said, because I myself have never heard this used as a pro-xtianity argument?

Wow, I love it when people over the internet tell me why I believe what I believe. You are living proof of Psychic power, Swami Ebo-lax. Now tell me next week's winning lotto numbers and I'll be on my apostasized merry way. :geebob:

Don't knock it - you know you love that show.
That and Teen Titans.
Wait... what are we talking about?
EDIT:
Oh, and just a thought - scientifically speaking, that whole "Ant Feces" thing isn't so far off - feces turning to compost turning to soil, etc., etc., etc.

Hey look, there are no gods or goddesses,
You said, I believe it, that settles it.
Not.
or at least there is no evidence for any of them.
If scientific evidence is the only kind of evidence you accept, then I agree.
The rest of the post is arguing the motives for beliefs. They get angry when someone (wrongly) suggests people become atheists in order to be rid of accountability to a higher power, but they have no qualms about suggesting that theists are always so because of weakness of character.

And if you do choose to believe in a God then why choose to follow one that has such petty, childish emotions like "wrath" and "jealosy."
These types of Gods are common in the Mideast areas.

No such thing as death either.
That's actually what the inventor of the idea of 'God' proper was -
not to worship gods, man-made ideas!
the only meaning is what you declare. 'meaning' is within a context anyway. You are not being nihilistic ENOUGH! let go of concepts of life and death, because that is what is described in the bible, in present tense, as Adam/Eve eating from the foribdden tree of knowledge.
