View Full Version : Let Go And Let God!

Some time ago as I struggled with Myasthenia Gravis it seemed as if life had pushed me over the edge and I was falling. Someone told me when I got to the end of my rope to tie a knot and hang on. That was a powerful idea so I've used myself and have advised others to do likewise. At the time it sounded like good advice however one day it suddenly dawned on me it had a dangerous, underlying, perhaps even sinister ring to it.

The Apostle Paul wrote, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the merciful Father and the God who gives every possible encouragement; he supports us in every hardship, so that we are able to come to the support of others, in every hardship of theirs because of the encouragement that we ourselves receive from God. {2nd Corinthians 1:3 - 1:4 NJB}

If the above scripture is accurate then as long a we're hanging on the rope we're depending on ourselves and not on the promises of God! Perhaps you've heard this phrase, "Let go and Let God." That's the one you'll hear me saying from now on.

What rope are you hanging?
"Let go and Let God!"
