This is like the thing they do sometimes on Jeopardy, where the clue mixes two answers that are linked by one common word or phrase.
For instance, the clue might be: Famous British horse race (Grand National) which features cultures and scenes from around the world (National Geographic). The answer would be: Grand National Geographic.
That's how you do it. Whoever guesses correctly gets to put up the next clue.
Okay, here goes, first clue:
Corporate aerospace giant which insists that the answer to life, the universe and everything is 42.

Okay, another easy one. There are actually two possible answers to this one, and it's pretty simple by process of elimination.
Clue: A player on a current first-place baseball team (American, by the way, which can include the Canadian teams) says it's his favorite color.

Use process of elimination. Only six teams are in first place (only six divisions), and which ones are also names of color hues?
I'll give you a hint. Here are the first-place teams:
AL East: New York Yankees
AL Central: Kansas City Royals
AL West: Seattle Mariners
NL East: Atlanta Braves
NL Central: St. Louis Cardinals
NL West: San Francisco Giants

I edited my post above, giving you a hint by listing the first-place teams (since it asks for a player, not the whole team, just singularize the mascot names and go from there).

Okay, okay.
A player from the Kansas City Royals, for instance, is a Kansas City Royal. There is a color hue called Royal Blue. So one answer would be Kansas City Royal blue.
A player from the St. Louis Cardinals is a St. Louis Cardinal. There is a color hue called Cardinal Red. So one answer would be St. Louis Cardinal Red.

Except for three problems:
1. They aren't baseball.
2. They aren't in first place.
3. There's no such color (that I know of) called Browns Brown (since the last word of the first phrase has to combine with the second phrase).
