I went ahead and ordered it before my husband changed his mind, plus it was on sale for 25% and free shipping for limited time so it did not make sense to wait.
But I wanted to show you why I am so jazzed up on how this is going to look in our guest bath....
Here is a pic of the sink and faucet (it is kinda hard to totally make out because it is right in front of the large bathroom mirror)

Circe Invidiosa
Awesome match, good choice; probably my favorite Waterhouse. The title actually inspired a sculpture I'm working on.

Thats Circe in a nutshell. "Her Beauty and her Terror" is a line from a later Greek play. There is a reason I love Waterhouse. Its his faces, they change with the light sometimes. When I saw the original at the Gallery here the painting actually changed from when I saw it at 10 am and when I saw it again at 5 pm. During full light she looks more ephemeral and harmless, as the light goes she looks more malevolent.

This of course is an inexpensive reproduction, but I am happy with it. I hope my hubby hangs it soon so I can post a pic. I am now wanting to get some more Waterhouse. We might get another one for the Master Bath. The main rooms are much more obviously Christian-themed. I did not care for the Waterhouse Christian-themed prints.

You might also try John Strudwick, a student of Waterhouses and brilliant in his own right. His works use a lot more allegorical elements.

I've always liked Waterhouse. Have you looked at any of the earlier preraphaelites? Millais is my favorite---when he's on.

Hey Dee Dee. I'm not much of a link resource, but you might try a general search on the Pre-Raphaelites, Rossetti, Holman-Hunt, Millais, Burne-Jones, Sandys, Morris, and those they influenced....

Im looking at replacing my Circe Invidiosa with a masterworks repro, but they are truly expensive, but I guess a repro oilpainting is worth the money.

when we get the black toilet and redo the tub area it will be very cool - but that is a ways away, at least the tub area is, a black toilet is do-able in the near future
