My Brother* is a Pastor in North Carolina. They had discovered his wife has bone cancer in her arms. It's looking "more serious" than previously thought, so your prayers are appreciated.

Her name is Linda.

*my only living brother - not including Rogue.

So, Dad is doing much better (http://www.theologyweb.com/campus/showthread.php?6938-Dad-Fell&p=200409&viewfull=1#post200409), and I will be seeing him when I go to the Southern Baptist Convention in Ohio, but my Brother, who was also going to go, is still trying to figure out if he's going or not, since they're still figuring out treatment for his wife.

We may end up going THAT way on the way to Ohio.

Then, they say deaths come in threes. We just had our third "elderly Mom" pass away last night, and I'm waiting to hear on plans for her funeral. We (Mrs CP and I) are supposed to leave for Ohio right after Morning Service on Sunday (this Sunday) but that may change, as well.

But God is good - it will all work out!

Saw her in Ohio last week - it was a WEIRD cancer in her arm - not the bone as I had thought, but there was a bump on the wrist bone that hurt when she touched it. They opened up her arm from wrist to elbow, and found that this cancer mass was actually woven throughout her forearm, wrapped around muscle, bone, vessels, and entwined in such a way that the doctors were amazed. They took out what they could, then targeted radiation on the rest. Some of it was attached to the inside of the skin, apparently, so they had to remove some skin and flesh, and transplant some skin and flesh from her thigh.

Maybe more than you asked for, but it was quite a procedure, and she is doing quite well. She has a followup end of August, and, for some reason, if there is still cancer, they said the only option was amputation. Sounds pretty drastic.

But she's in very good spirits, is right handed - the affected arm is her left arm - and is learning to use her otherwise useless (at this point) left hand to "block" things, rather than holding things. (like, when cooking, she can trap a mixing bowl between her left hand and her body while working with her right hand, but can't pick up or hold things with her left hand)

Doing great, actually -- decided to stop in Tyler, Texas and get some rest before driving the last 3.5 hours. We could have driven straight through, but then we would pretty well be worthless when we got home. We used to live in Tyler, so we had some time to "drive down memory lane" a bit. Sleeping in Tyler tonight. GREAT to be back in Texas!

Thanks for asking!

So, update?

Most current is way back there at Post #17 (http://www.theologyweb.com/campus/showthread.php?7120-My-Brother-s-Wife&p=210055&viewfull=1#post210055) before all the spam.
