Any one here know of a good book or articles (like online) that discuss the spread of mankind and tribes from say about 3000 B.C. and/or earlier to the time of Rome? I'm interested in this and what has been said in history and the new Newsweek articles on the spread of mankind by DNA genetic tracing thing.

David Hurst Thomas' "Archaeology 3rd edition" has a few chapters on the subject as Does the " Oxford History of Ancient Egypt" Ian Shaw Ed. "ancestors Tale" has got good reviews but some people have issues with Dawkins.
On the lighter reading side you might like " The Genesis Chronicles" Glenn MacBride. For a series of essays and illustrative stories on movements and technologies as well as social hypotheses.
Of course a google on Multiregionalism and Out of Africa will net you many hits Try and stick to the ones from .edu domains.
