The Hunger

How poetic
how pathetic
tiny ripples of rhythm and rhyme
he is just another breather
skimming the surface of time
I ask I receive because I believe
have you read the books I read
I like words inspired by our creator
tell me which ones do you favor
do you like the ones about our saviour
I find that truth is like an alligator
hungry ol' wise wide eyes rise above the water line
slow subtle flick of a tail
easy glide silent slide right up close behind the blind
just the branch of a tree floating in the breeze up against the lily pads and cat tail weeds he is stalking prey
think it's easy to give life away
who is going to be baptized today
crashing splashing smashing thrashing, knashing lazar razor sharp teeth drag the demons deep beneath
O' man of the world find this pond a grave
become an ark for the angels
listen to what they say
become a child of mercy
repent and thank God for the breath to pray
now lunge toward the commandments of the Lord
grab branches of patience and faith
fear of God before your face and you just might escape
how can words save those who do not believe
Satan deceives the world
a fact that very few can see
go ahead and laugh
just go and let me be
You have your life to live
how be it just a dream
who can divide death from sleep
spirits deep within us rise up to the surface they are waiting for you and me
to swim up and take a peek,
lets go see what we might see
Eyes pop up on the top
quick lets grab some meat
woe! woe! slow down my friends let me pull you up seat
I am glad you brought your appetite it is almost time to eat
today is a very good day I say a very good day indeed
for today is the day the day my friend the day of the mighty king's feast

I can almost drown in your Christian stream-of-thought
