To what extent should Christians be "separated" and "holy" from the world? Obviously, in areas where God's moral will is clear (adultery, stealing, murder, etc , etc), but what about when we seem to be using things the world uses? I ask because of the focus I have in my circles concerning the church copying the "world's music", and not being separate from their kind of music (rock and things like that). What are some ideas about this?

What are some ideas about this?What makes rock music worldly? In other words, what is wordly about playing it? Is it worldly because non-Christians play it? If so, is it worldly to ride a bike?

The context of the Corinthian passage is important. Corinth was a city of prostitution and other evils. It has been said that it was a miracle that there was even a church in Corinth. The term "Corinthian" was even a negative term in those days.

So let's see, separation from idol worship, mystery religions, and prostitution then equals separation from Rock and Roll today?

Non sequitur.

You are to be separate from that which is clearly referred to as sin. I do not see this in Rock and Roll. Some songs in some genres might be wrong to listen to, but not all songs. In many cases, this is a personal matter as passages like Romans 14 will show. Each should be justified in his own mind.
