The Christian Life:

True Christians living their lives for Christ and allowing Christ to live in them are probably the most tolerant in the world.

They are to live peaceably with all men, as is possible, Romans 12:18.

They are not to seek vengeance, Romans 12:19.

They are to feed and give drink to their enemies if the enemies are hungry or thirsty, Romans 12:19.

They are to overcome evil with good, Romans 12:21.

They are to put into actions, love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, kindness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance. They are not to do anything to anyone that they would not want done to themselves, Matthew 7:12, Galatians 5:22

Christians are to do good unto all men, Galatians 6:10, 1 Thessalonians 3:12, be patient, 1 Thessalonians 5:14.

They are crucified with Christ, Galatians 2:20

Dead to sin, alive to God through Jesus Christ! Romans 6:2, Romans 6:11

In christian love,
ollie

Thank you for the exhortation. I can see why nobody had responded. Blessings.

Depends on how you define tolerant. If we run with the secular definition that most (including many Christians) accept, that means allowing others to maintain opinions and worldviews without ever challenging them with opposing viewpoints. We wouldn't want to provide an alternative construction that challenges theirs, because that would be "intolerant"! Given the secular interpretation, I'd say "tolerance" is not a virtue.

A more full-orbed ideal of sacrificial love (which includes all of the aforementioned verses) should suffice.
