This is a retort to

Dear Edski, I wanted to tell you how much I laughed at your latest round of bombast in which you tried to convince Matthew – a very intelligent young man with whom I would say you deserve no discourse – that I was engaged in “creating imaginative solutions” to Biblical errors and issues. Oh, really?
Edski, as pathetic as you have been in your own responses to me over the years, and as little familiarity as you show with critical scholarship, that’s a hilarity in and of itself. The bulk of my material appeals to precedents, often in secular documents, as well as to contextual realities of the literary and social world of the Bible. You have never been able to refute me on these grounds, always either running away with your tail between your legs (as you do here on TheologyWeb) or else making some nutty appeal to, “Well, so and so is a good Christian too and he doesn’t agree.” You seldom actually answer any of my arguments directly, and when you do, you always turn to running or a nut-appeal after one or two rounds.
What you really need to do is admit two things to yourself:
1) You don’t have the knowledge – or the intellectual capacity – or either one – to engage a serious student on this subject. This is why you idiotically rant on about “self-deception” and the like. This is why you keep producing “sound bites” about things like the change of language in Daniel, and think this is still valid to appeal to as some sort of problem. Scholars provided sound and intelligible answers to things like this a long time ago.
2) You are STILL a fundamentalist in mindset (as Dr. Black clearly recognized). This is why you constantly try to place people in your narrow categories and are unable to judge between presented answers to problems. That is why you think it I treat inerrancy like a sacred cow (I don’t). Your capacity to sift and weigh evidence is dismal. And thus you fit to a T Pagels’ assessment of one whose development is stopped. Grow up! Some of us are not "liberals" or "moderates" or "conservatives." The only "category" we belong in is "truth seekers". I appreciate such people immensely and count Matthew as one, so likewise Kyle Gerkin and several other Skeptics I know. You will NEVER be in this category until you cleanse yourself of the fundamentalist mindset you are STILL snared in.
The bottom line is that you’re too much of a simpleton to do more than spew out sound bites based on arguments that were outdated years ago. You can’t handle complex topics. Please stop wasting people’s time with your inane anecdotes devoid of argument. Please cease thinking of Harold Lindsell as the end all and be all of Bible answermen. Please stop pretending that you can somehow cite “Chaplain Tresham Dames Gregg “ for finding a steam locomotive in the Bible, and thereby somehow discredit people who use scholars like Malina, Witherington, and Wright. Your stupidity is tiresome to the point of disgrace.
It is probably a vain request, but if any is to be made, I would ask that you stop blaspheming my name by mentioning me in your diatribes. It was bad enough to put up with your incessant, rambling, semi-stalker emails for so long (as others like G. Morton have done as well) but it’s even more nauseating to be the putative subject of one of your stream-of-consciousness diatribes, which would suffice mainly as a typical fundy sermon. But maybe that's what we OUGHT to expect from you at your level of arrested psycho-spiritual development.
