I'm going on my missions trip to Utah tommorow morning at 5:30 in the AM.

Please keep me in your prayers. Much more detail can be found in the blogs at my profile (www.myspace.com/joelgonzaga) at myspace.

I'm currently at a church in Salt Lake City. This has been our second stop.

Our first day was interesting. APU is working with "Standing Together" ministries and our "relational" type approach was brought some heat and vice versa with those of the street preacher approach. We ran into some people from Biola who advocated street preacher, and had a fairly cordial "debate." More on that later though. In all fairness, when we saw the street preachers out by the temple a few nights ago, most of them weren't that bad. The only one that annoyed me was "end of the world guy" and one or two others.

Tommorow is knocking on houses day. This is something I don't feel as comfortable with as other types. I can talk religion with other religion "elites" (other religion students, clergy, teachers etc) but I'm not sure how I'm going to handle things outside of that context, with LDS laity. I'll be keeping my cross around my neck as well, so that might get some reaction. I have no idea what to expect or really what to do. Please pray for me and my team in this part.

More updates to follow, I hope.

Blessings and peace as you all minister, and the wisdom from the Lord...

1 Peter 1:12 It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves but you, when they spoke of the things that have now been told you by those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. Even angels long to look into these things.

Blessings,
Lee
