I got another awesome permission to host tapes!
Pastor Gene Cook has given me permission to host his refutations of hyperpreterism including material on HL James, host of the hyperpreterist radio show "Beyond the End Times" out of California

And if you guys are not checking out his weekly show, you should. It is both educational and entertaining.

Pastor Gene is way cool. And he looks like one of the villians on Xena! Actually the villian that made Xena who she was, the warlord Cortiz who raided her village.
I am assembling a whole cast of Xena look-alike characters.
JardinPrayer - Minya
SpiritusNaturae - Joxer
Pastor Gene Cook - Cortiz
 I wish I looked like someone cool on Xena.
Anyhows... listen to those tapes, they are AWESOME.

To be honest, when I listened to the debate against HL James, I didn't think Pastor Cook did very well as far as his audience presence. In other words, had I been a neutral observer, I probably would have thought of James as the more charismatic and persuasive of the two. That being said, I didn't think either fella "won" as far as totally answering/refuting the other. Such is typically the nature of debates though.
On the other hand, in the mp3 of the private Bible study hosted by James, it was obvious that Pastor Cook had him and his croanies flustered. James' true colors came out since he wasn't performing for an audience, and Gene had him going in circles.
Good stuff.

Gavin, if you haven't listened to the one by Pastor Roth I would recommend it.

I listened to the debate with HL James again, and I think it is was me debating him, I woulda stopped and smacked him a couple of times. He seems to have a problem keeping his mouth shut and not making little snide remarks on the side, even when the mic is not his.
If you have to resort to pot-shots, HL, could it mean that you are LACKING in your doctrine (if you could call gutting the historic faith a doctrine)?
