Peace is the presence of Jesus Christ not the absence of conflict!
And Jesus said, “I have told you all this so that you may find peace in me. In the world you will have hardship, but be courageous: I have conquered the world.” [John 16:33]
For many people life has become like a raging river cascading through a rocky countryside. Their lives are filled with fear, doubt, hopelessness, anger, broken dreams, and emptiness. They long for tranquil streams flowing through beautiful meadows but become discouraged when the raging river flows on.
Does this describe you? Be honest with yourself.
If your life is like a raging river then there’s Good News, there’s Jesus Christ. But Jesus does not always calm raging rivers there are times when he helps us harness it’s power. In 1981 I found myself fully enveloped in raging river created by Myasthenia Gravis and it wasn’t until my spirituality deepened that I emerged into a slow moving river. Yet even now I can feel the effects of life’s difficulties pulling me again into a river that seems out of control but I hear Jesus whispering to me, “In the world rivers will rage, but be courageous: I have conquered the world.”
If you think that’s good news your right! But here’s some even better news Jesus will do the same for you!
Remember Jesus is………Bigger than life!
