Hello one and all. I would like to state that I think SETI should be considered a legitimate form of Scientific Research for Intelligent Design. I am an Atheist who believes in Intelligent Design as a valuable Science, and the only correct Scientific theory available that is true. However, I believe that the cause was not God, but rather extraterrestrial beings who came down from outer space and planted a seed into the earth, which is what caused the Intelligent Life forms on the face of the earth was we know it today. I believe we have ample evidence for this position. If anybody is willing to debate me on the issue, I'm more than happy to oblige.

Sorry to be a thread-pooper, but is that you again, Yeshuamarine?

Holy cow, Jill, for some reason there seems to be two (http://www.theologyweb.com/campus/member.php?u=11340) of you (http://www.theologyweb.com/campus/member.php?u=11341), both with the same IP address!

I notice you're Jill Holloway #22! Were you all cloned by aliens and now you're using side-by-side terminals in the mother ship, and that's why you have the same IP? :nsm:

No...actually I'm not. I'm a teacher at Lafayette High School, messed up on one account name, and have this one now. I just found this site by searching on the net not too long ago. What about yourself?

Let me show you my evidence first:

I believe that Seti can be proven in several ways. For one, I believe much of the events at Area 51 prove that UFOs exist and that we have life on other planets. I think the fact that the Air Force has been trying to cover this up gives up evidence that Extra Terrestrial life exists on other planets. This among other research evidence in the SETI community has been substantiated throughout the universe.

I'm a science student at university in Canadia. What do you teach? I enjoy hiking, fishing, reading, motorcycles, and surfing TWeb. Wanna hook up sometime? I'm single! :eyebrow:

Well, I'm 46 and married, so no, I'm sorry I can't do that. I'm also a good ways away from Canada anyways. I teach math (pre-calculus and Algebra).

We have also discovered life on Mars and on the moon as well.

Hello Hollow Jillway! I'm not really Barry Desborough. I'm Felicity Finglestroober and I'm stealing some time on Barry's PC. He doesn't know.

I'm a theist who believes in Unintelligent Design. I'm the Chair (we say the Stool) of the Unintelligent Design Department of Educational Research Services, an organisation dedicated to milking the most we can from conventional science to prove that the design of humanity was a stupid move. I'd love to debate with you. You will provide invaluable evidence for our position. The receptacles are ready. Just let it flow.

Trust me, I would know.

As far as Mars goes, we have strong evidence of primitive bacteria that would lead to the cause of life on Mars. Also the PAHs and unused mineral phases strongly indicate life on Mars. The planet itself also has the perfect conditions to which it would be possible for life to exist on the planet.

Is that a picture of you?

You're a handsome guy Tuck, but I think you should look for somebody more in your age range. I am too old for you, and too very happily married.

Okay, lets try to keep this on the subject of SETI now.

Ok, if you say so... I won't participate in this thread again.

Sheesh, I thought younger guys were hooking up with hot, repressed teachers all the time. I mean, the internet is chock full of - .... I mean, I heard of some guys... who did it. Or something.

I really can't respond to this. I'm married and Mr. Holloway is my pride and joy. I'd be absolutely nothing without him. I love him dearly and would do anything for him. So I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings, but my family comes first.

What do you guys think about SETI?

I am quite offended by you not taking my belief in Extra Terrestrial life forms coming to Earth and Intelligently Designing humans as they are today seriously. SETI is a very important and useful benefit that has been provided to Science.

Appologies if we seem overly dismissive of your unusual beliefs. We have recently been under attack from a persistant sock-puppeteer whose last cunning plan was to come in the guise of an atheist who believed in ID. Assuming you are not Casey Powel, let's debate.

1) What is the evidence that we were intelligently designed?
2) What is the evidence that the designer was an alien species?
3) If it was an alien species, what created them? Or did they somehow not require designing, but we did?

It hasn't convinced many of the people who have seen it. Part of my research is on martian meteorites and I don't know anybody outside the original claimants who considers their evidence strong.

Also the PAHs and unused mineral phases strongly indicate life on Mars.

What is an "unused mineral phase"? If you mean the magnetite "chains" trapped in carbonate, crystallographically it can be shown that it was produced directly from the siderite and is not the relic of bacteria.

The planet itself also has the perfect conditions to which it would be possible for life to exist on the planet.

Like liquid water not being stable at the surface, for instance?

Hello, Jill 22 -

I am not so sure about SETI.

However, I will mention that I am a committed theist, who, after intensive study of the writings of Bertrand Russel, has been thoroughly convinced that the whole concept of intelligent design in the universe is wrong.
