I have added it for you. :)

Well I live Down River from Detroit on a little Island in the Detroit River right where it opens up into lake Erie. I guess that classifies as Great Lakes region? Though I might have pciked mid-west, had it been included.

Whoops, sorry PRAISE. I didn't catch this thread until just now.

Cirisme, thanks for helping out. :thumb:

P.S. PRAISE, on your post above -- disregard the italics saying last edited by Jade. It's a long story and it's been a much longer morning/afternoon. I didn't make any actual changes to your post, though.

Ryokan,
Are you familiar with the Aquarium (can't remember the name of it) either in or near Cincinnati? That place was the BOMB!!!! I'd recommend it to anyone in the Cincinnati area as a great point of interest. Got to see where they feed the live sharks. Whoohooooo!

Where's the South?????? Georgia, Ala, Miss, Sc, Tenn, Fla, Texas etc

Technically the South begins at the Mason-Dixon line. I think that Maryland, the Virginias and North Carolina might take exception to your geographical demarcations.

Well, I was just being general and did not intend to exclude any place. I just listed the most obvious "Deep South" states.

Though to be nit-picky (and I am
 ) only the cotton growing regions of West Tenn. are "South." Nashville/Middle Tenn is "Country"
(Howdy Ya'll and welcome to The Grand Ole Opry)
and East Tennessee was Union---in fact organized and was admitted to the Union as the State of Franklin but alas---the Confederates overran it pretty quick.

My great great maternal grandmother, in 1862, walked 5 miles at night to warn the Union troops that the confederates were moving their way. She lost all 3 sons in the War all Union.

btw Doing any walking on (frozen lake) water lately?

 Now that you mention it, I can't remember hearing a real live Canadian say that in normal conversation. Our former associate pastor did drop that into his sermons every now and then to remind us that he's not American.

I don't think too many in the west use it. It is used more in the east, and maybe more in French Canada. It is a joke to us here in the west too.
