It so happened that in my RL I am in computer science and I was just amased, stucked and confused by one claim from ECF.

Here is quote

It is from Tatian address to Greeks chapter V

I who converse do not become destitute of speech (logos) by the transmission of speech, but by the utterance of my voice I endeavour to reduce to order the unarranged matter in your minds. And as the Logos begotten in the beginning, begat in turn our world, having first created for Himself the necessary matter, so also I, in imitation of the Logos, being begotten again, and having become possessed of the truth, am trying to reduce to order the confused matter which is kindred with myself.

So here comes my computer science experteese... here what Tatian claims is the very definition of Shannons Information entropy (founder of modern day Information Theory). Shannon describes information operation just like Tatian. Each bit of information reduces uncertainity! In other words, information (and speach is one basic form of it) does reduce unarranged matter in our minds.

This single quote gives me the boost to read more of ECF, as they seems to be very wise men.

Tatian is most famous for his Diatessaron, in which he attempted to cram all four of the gospels together into one super long mega-gospel. Not sure why he wanted to do that, but he did. I believe he was a student of Justin Martyr.
