One morning last week Sigmund (fictional) awoke early, “The early bird gets the worm,” he thought as he anticipated a joyful day. Forty-five minutes later Sigmund’s life changed forever a reckless driver ran a red light and hit Sigmund’s car in the driver door. Five and half hours later Sigmund whose day started on a joyous note lie in a hospital bed paralyzed from the waist down. As the doctors told him he’d never walk again Sigmund felt huge net descend on him.
Many times in course of my life I’ve felt as if circumstances beyond my control have left me feeling trapped like Sigmund in the above story. So I’ve discovered first hand the truthfulness of, “Draw me out of the net they have spread for me, for you are my refuge; to your hands I commit my spirit, by you have I been redeemed. God of truth, you hate those who serve useless idols; but my trust is in Yahweh: I will delight and rejoice in your faithful love… [Psalms 31:4 - 31:7]
So if you feeling more and more like Sigmund here’s a short prayer for you to pray. “God, draw me out of the net that has me trapped, for you are my refuge; to your hands I commit my spirit, by you have I been redeemed. God of truth, I put my trust is in you and I will delight and rejoice in your faithful love… Amen.”
To say is to speak out…To pray is to live out…
Oh, by the way in case you're wondering what happend to Sigmund. Three years after his accident he killed himself no one ever told him God could lift the net from his life. If you know a Sigmund please tell you may have only chance!
Just so there’s no doubt Jesus is… … …Bigger than life!
