This Donald vs. Rosie thing is a dramaqueen's dream come true.
I don't think Miss USA should still have her crown at all(and hello? Does anybody remember the Vanessa Williams thing? Hmm?).
O'Donnell is just repulsive anyways, but I think the Don is just mad cuz he didn't like how she broke it on down and humiliated him in front of millions. So now he has to point out that she's a fat slob and talks like a truckdriver. Was that all he could come up with?
As much as she flaps her loud mouth, I have to say that this is one time in which she was saying something similar to what I was thinking when the news broke out about the second chance.
in any event: w00t! May the games continue!

The Donald is making a business decision, here. By letting her continue, he doesn't have to train a new "Miss America" to bring in the big dollars that he needs to run his business.
This whole "She's a good person" is a load of hooey, nothing more than a marketing ploy to save her reputation so she can continue to make money for him.
Rosie, on the other hand, is a load of hooey herself. She is woefully uninformed. Trump never inherited a load of cash, nor has he ever gone bankrupt and failed to pay any creditor. Those were both uninformed lies.
And apparently Rose is too stupid to realize that Trump's decision had nothing to do with morality, and everything to do with profit.
You all can have them both. The only redeeming quality of either is that Donald knows how to run a business properly.

Miss USA is a televised competition for the right to be a model and advertisement for people. If the people who she is advertising for want to keep her regardless of her behavior, who cares? As far as Rosie and Trump, well, I hope Rosie tries to eat him and chokes. They are vile, and I wish they'd just go away.

They're both pretty aweful people. Rosie gets my goat up because she's always talking about tolerance and not being a bigot and yet she goes out of her way to be insulting to others. Trump was right when he called her a bully. As far as I can tell, the deserve eachother.

She's definitely a bully, and a loudmouth. :thumbd: And he's always had the most annoying hairdo out of most all famous men I've ever seen.
Muz, I wasn't referring to the financial part of what she said when I said that she stated similarly to what I was thinking-- you are prolly right about that part.
Ryokan, no one is really caring. But if people have reactions to, or opinons about what someone in the public does, then who cares if they express them?
Fun! Fun! Great fun!

Too clarify, yes Trump has filed for bankruptcy...TWICE. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/03/31/national/main609576.shtml
And living and working in the Atlantic City area I can tell you that he did leave creditors hanging intitially. For instance the Atlantic City Convention Center where, until recently, my wife worked in the front office in HR.
He eventually did pay back certain creditors on his own time and under his own convictions which I think was a pretty cool thing. And i have to say that I have almost personlly worked with Mr. Trump at Sister Jean's Kitchen in Atlantic City which is a soup kitchen immediately across the street from the Trump Taj Mahal. He's been a very good friend to the kitchen. There is even a story of the kitchen running short one day over a holiday and a phone call was made to Mr. Trumps office and promptly there was a stream of Trump employees from the Tak kitchens flowing across the street with food for the soup kitchen. So there is some real good there.

Miss USA is different than Miss America and yes they have both. Miss USA was started by Trump when he was chastized for trying to hang around the Miss America contestants back stage.
The contestants are not allowed such fraternizing during the competition, no excpetions and Trump couldn't beleive there was no excpetion for him. So he got all mad and said, "ok, then I'll have my own pageant."
You learn all kinds of interesting Atlantic City history when you have pageant hosts etc. as church members. One lady in my church was Vanessa Williams chaperone for her time in the competition and then her traveling companion when she won and traveling across country. Very cool stuff really.

:LMBO: I did not know that that had happened. I've been confusing Miss USA with Miss America all this time.
And Ryokan, it's okay. You're cute when you're grouchy (meaning in a non-flirtatious way).

I wonder if there is any truth to Trump’s claims that Rosie’s show is floundering?
After watching some of the news clips I was surprised that comments from the people on the street saying that this was a feminist issue and Rosie is there champion of this cause.

I happened to catch the megalomaniac on Larry King and what’s interesting is his answer when someone brings up O’Donnell’s point about the irony of him being the arbiter of morality when he’s had affairs on both of his first two wives. His answer basically is “Look at her morality. She’s fat and ugly.” Brilliant, Donald, brilliant!
With all his wealth and success he should not care that O’Donnell has correctly pointed out some irony about the situation. His extreme over reaction indicates that he takes himself WAY too seriously. He’s a git.

So The Donald is a friend of The Barbara?
Well, that's what friends are for. Have yourself a nice little public spat to boost your pal's show's ratings. I can't imagine why no one ever thought of that before.

I think it's awesome that the Donald threatened to have someone seduce Rosie's partner away from her.
Hilarious!
I love everything about it--especially Donald's whine-fest.

Salon.com's Video Dog has a little clip-fest of the Donald on like 6 different programs talking about Rosie. It's pretty funny.
Someone asked how the ratings are doing with Rosie? They are 30% since she came on.

Yeah, I think bringing Rosie on was a mistake. I mean, her own daytime show tanked, what made them she would be a big asset to The View given that?
Rubia Warren
December 24th 2006, 08:59 AM
She obviously has become an asset to The View, because they have gained more viewers since she joined. From what I've read they've got more people watching than they have in a very very long time.
I think taoist may have had a point. I don't think it was to boost The View's ratings though..... I just saw that The Apprentice is starting up again Jan. 7th, and I think it's Trump who actually is using this to boost HIS ratings.
The reason I say this is because I read yesterday that this didn't start with Rosie O'Donnell skewering him publicly for giving Miss USA another chance-- it began when Trump approached O'Donnell somewhere and made a snide comment to her about how her magazine failed.
Given how childish he has acted through this little feud and not letting up, I think it is he who wants the attention-- he wants people to watch The Apprentice, for The View doesn't seem to be hurtin' any.

I thought Twilly Spree meant the were down 70%. Not that I ever watch The View, it's on at the same time as my beloved Bob Barker.

I do about once a week-- usually the day after I've heard Rosie said something completely stupid-- just to see if more drama will happen.
