Please, no atheist groanings in this thread...
In my youth group, we have a weekly Q&A. Last week I challenged my teens to tell me why they believe in God. The ones that responded, I read and wanted to post here, just to see what you guys thought.
I believe in God because...
1. He's real and He saved us.
2. The Bible says so and because I know He is real and I don't care what other people tell me.
3. I can feel His presence in my life and during worship and because prophecies about Him have been fulfilled
4. when I didn't go to church, my life was really bad. Then when I came and believed, it turned around.
5. Every time I pray I can feel Him
6. Prophecies fulfilled and questions answered in the Bible
7. what he has done in my life and how He has shown up time and time again when I needed Him the most
8. He is the only personin the world that will never go away or hurt me
Those were the "Last minute" answers
The ones that took the time said this:
1. I have seen change in my life. He has protected me and kept me strong. Everyone needs something to believe in. Even Bernard Russell, a proclaimed atheist, said "A life without God is meaningless."
2. After trying many different things to make my life easier to go thru, the only thing that has ever made it worth while for more than a day is God. He is the only friend that sticks by me through anything. I have turned my back on Him, ignored Him, and even told Him I hated Him, yet He still loves me and is always waiting with open arms to take me back. God is the only person that has never let me down. In this world where everything changes, God is the only constant in my life. No matter what, He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
Most of these kids are just saved and have a lot to learn, but don't we all...
