Is it possible to be a Christian and get in fist fight with your 'friend' in the pro-shop of a local ice hockey rink?

Sure Gerbz. Nothing wrong with a little good old fashioned christian hockey brawl. As opposed to the non-christian hockey brawl, of course.

:haha: :rodent:

Did he whack you or did you whack him?

No..no.
I don't play hockey.
In fact, I don't even play basketball - it's too rough.

I was speaking with an alleged 'Christian' on the phone last night and he was telling me about a 'haymaker' swing that put a ringing in his ears - as delivered by another 'Christian' - after the later was informed by the former that he'd been 'skooled' on the ice that day.

I'm realizing that there are few True Christians(tm) out there.

The guy that clocked him one must have been Canadian. I couldn't imagine an American caring THAT much about the game. We hockey loving Canucks take any excuse we can to start a fight in an ice rink. It's a rite of passage. If the guy tossing the punch WASN'T Canadian... the NHL should still give him honorary membership... or somethin'..

Having played the game at a (relatively) high level (3 yrs college varsity, 1 yr. semi-pro), only an immature cementhead would take something off the ice. Unfortunately in amateur hockey, I see too many of these adult beginners who can't play a lick but still think they have to act like macho Bozos after the game. Of course Gerbs, being a Christian and being a jerk are two completely independent things.

The haymaker is the least Christian of all punches.

Shadowmaster says that evil lurks in the hearts of hockey players and rodents.

Shadowmaster knows.

No..no.

I'm realizing that there are few True Christians™ out there.

Hey Gerbil,
Nice to be conversing with you; this is my first time at that. Have you forgotten that we are all fallen, that we are all sinners and that none of us (even True Christians) are without sin?

What part of 'hockey' don't you understand -- and then fighting about it in the pro-shop?

*shudder*

I'm disgusted.
Most Calvinists are hockey players of one sort or another.

Sorry, I'm still pretty much a newbie. I also should have realized that what I said was a beginning Christian's truth and you're an old grizzled TWebber (and Christian I'm sure).

Sir,

I think grace is a begining Christian's truth that men spend a life time learning.
Grace is always welcome.

Who told you I was grizzled? :shifty:

Anyways, welcome to TWEB, noob.

I was trying to decide what kind of punch a True Christiantm would use and it finally hit me (pun not intended):

The right cross.

Having played the game at a (relatively) high level (3 yrs college varsity, 1 yr. semi-pro), only an immature cementhead would take something off the ice.

I couldn't agree more, only the worst type of knuckle-dragging, mouth-breather would do something so unspeakably childish and sinful.

This kind of guy probably played on a team that had the cops called on them a couple times.

Unfortunately in amateur hockey, I see too many of these adult beginners who can't play a lick but still think they have to act like macho Bozos after the game.

Preach it, Tiggy. The "bozo" probably went off like that because a far superior player schooled him for 8 goals, then goaded him into a game misconduct by baiting him into a retaliation high sticking major.

If I knew the full story I'd say the "bozo" should have thrown his gear in the dumpster out back and took up stamp collecting or toll painting or atheism. What am I saying? . . . the guy was probably an atheist already, acting like that.

Of course Gerbs, being a Christian and being a jerk are two completely independent things.

I dream of a world where hockey can be played without the threat of post game pro shop violence.

If you look at the postbit at the top of your posts, you will see over on the right hand side your join date and a bunch of other stuff.

Pearls are sort of like the currency of Tweb. They are given away, or hoarded, at your whim. I like to give pearls to people whose posts I enjoy, or who have done something special for me, like make a smiley or resize an avatar, or to people who are having birthdays or other special days.

You can give pearls away by clicking at the bottom of a post of the person you would like to gift, where it says "pearls". You can also access your pearl account from your control panel.

Gerbzy does not give pearls away lightly, so you should consider yourself blessed!

I found I like hitting people with hockey sticks.
I had big fun at the mall this afternoon.

It is more fun than in a hockey game because people aren't wearing padding.

Does it remind you of clubbing all those cute little baby seals?
No. It reminds me of Saturday nights when I was a little girl. My Mom used to put curlers in my hair, in the living room, after my bath. And my Dad was always watching Hockey Night in Canada. EVERY Saturday night of my growing up life was Hockey Night in Canada!

:argh:

I hate the music, I hate the organ, I hate the shouting, and I hate the game.

I just do.
