View Full Version : My cat passed away today

Tonight at 6pm EST, approx, my cat died in my mothers lap. :bawl: She had been getting worse, and today she couldn't even get up on her feet. She tried meowing but just couldn't. My mom held her on her lap for about an hour, while my cat lay pretty still, still barely alive. About 30 minutes before she passed, she purred one last time. We will bury her tommorow. She's been my friend and companion, in more ways than I could possibly describe. If I'm not my normal upbeat self, this is why.

We had for 15 years, just about. I believe that she's in Heaven, with my sister. Anyone who thinks otherwise should just not speak. I care nothing for those lines of thoughts right now, or ever. I just needed people here to know. Thank you for being there.

It stinks to lose pets you've had since a little kid. I'm sorry, Brand.

I used to not like cats until my kids insisted that we get one. Never hads one, never wanteds one. Now, in my 40's that little bugger is a real part of the family. (I really like her. )She has her individual (independent) personality and she is not always personalble like having a dog. But I get ups early in the morning (everyone is still sleeping) and she comes and wants attentions (from me). She has her own ways and she's grown on me. I wouldn'ts want to be without her now.

Sorrys about you losing yours. I would be sad too (to lose ours). :-(

I am so sorry, Brand.

We lost one of ours in October. They truly become part of our families, and the loss and grief we feel when one dies is very real.

You have my deepest sympathy. When we had to put to sleep our feline companion for 21 years, we felt as if a parent or sibling had died.

Right now, we still have 5 cats, and the oldest is 16 ....

We lost both our cats last year. The older one had to be put down because he was refusing to use the litter box and was peeing and pooping on our floors and couch. The younger one got sick a couple months later with a blockage in his urinary tract. We tried antibiotics, which worked for a bit, but the blockage came back. We brought him into the vet to get him unblocked, but he was too sick by then and didn't recover from the anesthesia.
