Yes, indeed they did, and when I read it, all my insides contracted in grief . . .in the same way I have reacted with each misfortune this poor creature has suffered along the way.

However, I am not familiar with all the details, but I am sure there are two sides to this sorry tale.

The vets did their best and their utmost, I am sure . . .but were they pressured into artificially prolonging the inevitable; thereby extending the suffering of a dumb beast for monetary reasons, or in response to undue pressures?

I don't know.

All I know, is that the latest pictures of his leg and hoof, looked irreversible.

Pity. I know guys who made lots of money off this horse in the Derby. Tis sad.
