We took in a rabbit, which we could not bear to keep in a cage, any more than our birds, or dogs, or etc. (And this was during our life in the city!)
He was a great pet and had roam of the house, going into a cage to do his business.
He used to sit on the closed toilet seat and watch our daughter do her hair and makeup every morning before school. So cute.
Not so cute when we discovered he had chewed on every electric cord on every lamp and appliance and telephone in the house, plus chomped to bits the linoleum coving on every corner of the kitchen and bathroom floors.
When we scolded him or chased him in response to his bad behavior, he would scurry to find a corner to hide and then thump his back foot at us, so hard the house would shake!
His name was "Ribbit". A beautiful, and very large, red.
He was worth it . . .
