I love frogs & amphibians.

I'm thinking about getting some tree frogs this next paycheck, or maybe an aquarium that has both dry land and water for some amphibians. Or maybe just an aquarium. I'm really not so sure yet.

Anyone else keep those types of animal(s)? Which type(s)? Why do you like them?

We've had an aquarium for tropical fish. We had quite a few different fish ...neon tetras., zebra danios, guppies, algae eater, kuhli loach (sp?) and a few more whose names I cannot think of.

Fish are quite friendly and lovely to watch. The little loach was my favourite and we had it for a few years before we gave the aquarium away (we moved) He was a real character and would swim (or do his thing ...he looked like an eel or snake ...he was real cute) furiously up to the top of the tank and then just freefall and flop over the little arm which held the thermometer in place. He always did this and I am sure he was trying to impress me

I think you should get a reptile instead!

But baring that Red Eyed Tree frogs are nice (though nocturnal).
Or a poison dart frog (no they are not poisonous in captivity) or a mantella (Madagascar's version of the poison dart frog). These are diurnal and brightly colored.

Today I just bought my brothers a new aquarium and some new fish for them
i daresay it's the best i've ever put together, i love it

it's a 5 gallon aquarium, it has an uneven mixture of aqua green, bright blue, and black rocks. it has two big caves, both with corals, one with a clam with a pearl, and another with reefs that look like mushrooms lol

i've got 2 medium size fake plants and one large fake plant, and a bunch of bulbs that will sprout into plants that have lily pads and flowers.

the fish that are in there are one black and orange goldfish, one black orange and silver goldfish, 5 neon tetras, one female orange guppy, one male blue guppy, one algea eater, and one scavenger fish. i plan on adding two or three water frogs next week and maybe a scale too.

Can the gold fish and the tropical fish live together?

I don't know.

We have a tropical fish tank, and I know that Gold fish are popular because they don't need heated water to survive?

But we also have 2 Fire Belly Toads. (we had three one died) they are fairly easy to care for if you live close enough to a pet store to get live crickets 2-3 times a week.

We also have a Bearded Dragon (lizard) who also eats crickets.

Of the three I like Mike (the bearded dragon and only named pet) the best. Not sure why. He requires the most up keep. (In addition to feeding him, you have to mist his cage 2-3 times a day and turn his light off in the evening on on in the morning). I guess the fun part is watching him catch the crickets and eat them (much faster than the frogs).

Yeah goldfish go fine with them. In fact, this aquarium is the best one I've ever set up IMO. Yesterday I purchased a water frog and added it to the aquarium along with some various water plants. The fish seem to be enjoying it even more now.
