  • Video game addiction - can it lead to other disorders?

I don't know a whole lot about the concept of "video game addiction". I don't play them myself but do have a family member who got really sucked into them. I understand there is some controversy over whether it is a valid phenomenon. Regardless, I found a short article from PopSci suggesting that excessive use of video games may rewire the brain in a way that makes people more susceptible to other, more serious disorders.

"I am not angered that the Moral Majority boys campaign against abortion. I am angry when the same men who say, "Save OUR children" bellow "Build more and bigger bombers." That's right! Blast the children in other nations into eternity, or limbless misery as they lay crippled from "OUR" bombers! This does not jell." - Leonard Ravenhill
