I was just having a conversation about orthodoxy and started thinking, is there a such thing?
Seeing as I havent studied on it in a while I have to try and remember old literature that I read on the subject, if I remember correctly the word orthodoxy is derived from latin "Ortho" as one word meaning "Right" and "doxy" meaning "Way". In such terms this simple word brings about a number of questions that need to be answered.
Now in more modern theology thw term is widely used without much if any understanding of what it means and yet still used. It is quite deserving of recognition that this single word has brought about many generations of fundamentalists, nod only in the christian world, but in many dogmas around the world, this goes as far as in Islam, we have shia, and suni, all christian sects, catholics, the list goes on. now I know what it is, but with as much as I said and many other things on my mind, I have to ask, what is the meaning of orthodoxy really?

Orthodoxy simply means true or correct when you get down to it. The problem is, just about everyone thinks they are correct (myself included), so unorthodox essentially comes down to "anyone who believes differently than me."
