Okay, this has been bugging me since Mossy mentioned it. Sparko's avatar is supposed to be a goat but it sure looks like a sheep to me (the horns are more sheep like curled along the head like that). Can someone identify it for sure?

I'm thinking it's either a Desert bighorn or a Rocky Mountain bighorn SHEEP.
The Dahl is much lighter in color.

A curelom is a fictional creature invented by Joseph Smith in the Book of Mormon. This was an artist's parody of what one possibly was...

Beaming with pride at the base of the Hill Cumorah near Palmyra, New York, a FARMS worker describes "The Curelom." Previously believed extinct until an angel delivered its sacred DNA to molecular biologist Scott Woodward's laboratory at BYU. Brother Woodward was able to resurrect the "useful" beast of burden.
Many FARMS workers believe beyond a shadow of a doubt that the curelom's sturdy five legs provided enough strength and support to lug Moroni and the 200 lbs of golden plates the four thousand miles from Zarehemla to Hill Cumorah. The four ears and three eyes of the Curelom kept constant vigil and protection from stampeding tapirs and the ever dangerous "Cumons.

I was in a Colorado national park a few years back listening to one of the rangers give a talk about the local wildlife. When big horn sheep were mentioned I asked a question that I was sure he could give the answer to (being an expert and all that) - "technically, what is the difference between sheep and goats?"
I was surprised to learn that he didn't know. So I looked it up.
Sheep and goats are distinct species, sheep (ovis aries) having 54 chromosomes and goats (capra hircus) having 60. So far so good, but how to tell them apart by observation? There are various things that mostly apply but the easiest and most definitive way to tell them apart is this: goats' tails curve up, and sheep's tails hang down. If you happen to see them eating you could note that sheep typically graze, preferring to eat grass, weeds, etc close to the ground. Goats browse, eating leaves, twigs, vines and shrubs, and can stand on their hind legs to reach vegetation that would otherwise be out of their reach.
