Yes yes yes I know what you will be thinking...not this argument again but alas here it is again. Hanging with some friends they started the whole "some king picked and chose what books should be in the OT/NT" and because of that we can't be 100% sure we know everything about Christinity. I tried explaining what little I knew to them about the subject, but I quickly discovered just how little I did know about that.
Can anyone point out a good article on this topic?

Thanks a mill

Hello and welcome, Binary! Here's a couple of articles you can check out:

New Testament canon:
http://www.tektonics.org/lp/ntcanon.html

Old Testament canon:
http://www.tektonics.org/lp/otcanon.html
http://www.christian-thinktank.com/aecot.html
http://www.christian-thinktank.com/canonout.html

I put the NT first because the argument you mention, that "some king chose which books to include", is usually in reference to Emperor Constantine and specifically putting together the NT. But the OT articles also have a lot of good info in them.

Also, feel free to use the TWeb Search engine to find threads here that discuss the same issue.

The (but be warned: a lot of people who start with that argument stop listening as soon as you start presenting facts) Curtmudgeon
