By accident I happened upon a home schooling supply company called America's Future (http://www.americas-future.com/extra_info_pages.php?pages_id=2), which caters to Christians. Going over some of the products I was amused by how they were promoted---beating the consumer over the head with the fact that god is the designer---and some rather odd conclusions: Dino fossils "point directly to God as the Creator of the universe" (http://www.americas-future.com/dino-trivia-p-141.html)

As your child studies the fascinating inventions included in this book and many of their inventors, he/she will gain an appreciation for the resourcefulness and ingenuity given to man by a very creative God


This one popped out at me... maybe because I'm a history person and so much of the 19th and 20th centuries revolved around inventions and how they changed people's lives... and I can't help but wonder.... would any of these 'fascinating inventions' include the atomic bomb? The bayonet? The grenade? Mustard or Chlorine gas? These were all inventions. If the book chooses to admit them into the repertoire discussed, I wonder if there'd also have to be a section about how man is given this resourcefulness and ingenuity by a very creative God, but unfortunately, sometimes man messes up and uses it for evil... hmm. :ahem: Likely enough, I'm guessing the book deals with the 'nice' inventions. Medical appliances and transportation and electronic equipment and what have you.

The other book in that little series that interested me was the 'Our Planet Earth' one. I'd like to see how they justify either a YEC or an OEC stance and apply scientific data on fossils to it while making the theological ties. Might be interesting to see how they do it.
